Mission Statement of the

Medford Fire Department

The Medford Fire Department of the Medford Fire District hereby establishes the following Mission Statement.

It is the mission of the Fire Department to:

• Provide high quality fire protection and emergency services to the resident and occupants within the Fire District and to our mutual aid recipients;

• Provide training designed to enhance the skills and safety of our firefighters;

• Serve as role models for the public and for each other;

• Promote volunteer firefighting;

• Promote fire safety and fire prevention;

• Provide a social outlet for volunteers while encouraging participation of the families of firefighters, in order to protect the mental well-being of our volunteers;

• Encourage physical and mental fitness and well-being;

• Encourage the open exchange of ideas and beliefs;

• Provide a safe and secure environment to our volunteers and employees;

• And to do all things reasonable to be a model fire department in the community.

Every member and employee shall receive this mission statement.  This mission statement shall be posted throughout the firehouse in order to serve as a constant reminder of our commitment to each other and to the community as a whole.
