The Medford Fire Department extends its appreciation to members who are currently standing by in Central Islip, providing fire protection coverage alongside the Bayport Fire Department.

The Central Islip Fire Department is temporarily out of service this morning as its members gather to honor one of their own during a funeral service.

In the spirit of the fire service brotherhood, Medford firefighters stepped in to ensure uninterrupted emergency response and continued protection for the residents of Central Islip. Their willingness to serve beyond their own district reflects the professionalism, dedication, and commitment shared across neighboring departments.

“We are proud to support Central Islip during this difficult time,” a department representative said. “Our members answered the call to ensure their community remains protected while they honor a member.”

The Medford Fire Department recognizes the importance of mutual aid and remains committed to supporting fellow departments whenever needed.

Residents are reminded that fire departments across the region work together daily to provide seamless emergency services. Ensuring working smoke alarms are installed on every level of your home is one of the simplest and most effective ways to stay safe.
